Krzysztof Kuciński

Krzysztof Kuciński was born in Inowrocław, Poland, and obtained his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he worked under the supervision of Prof. Bogdan Marciniec. In 2014, he began his doctoral studies with Prof. Grzegorz Hreczycho at the same institution. In 2020, he undertook a postdoctoral position with Prof. Lutz Ackermann at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

In 2022, he launched an independent research project entitled “Synthesis of Organosilicon Compounds – From Classical Catalysis to Electrocatalysis”, funded by the National Science Centre (NCN). In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious Sonata BIS grant from NCN.

His research focuses on organoboron and organosilicon chemistry, with a strong emphasis on sustainable catalytic processes. During his career, he has completed research internships with leading scientists, including Dr. Giuliano Giambastiani (ICCOM-CNR, Florence, Italy), Dr. Yujiro Itami (FUJIFILM Manufacturing Europe B.V., The Netherlands), Prof. Claudio Palomo (University of the Basque Country, San Sebastián, Spain), and Prof. Lutz Ackermann (Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany).

His distinctions include the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education Fellowship for Outstanding PhD Students (2016, 2017), the START Scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science (2018), the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education Fellowship for Outstanding Young Scientists (2019), and the Bekker Fellowship from NAWA (2019). He has also been awarded multiple NCN grants: PRELUDIUM (2015), ETIUDA (2017), SONATA (2022), and SONATA BIS (2025).
